Vision
Our vision is to be a church at the very heart of the local community of Presteigne in the 21st century. We are not a "holy huddle", but a group of believers reaching out to serve our local area and make a positive difference.
Modernisation project
A couple of years ago, the church embarked on the "modernisation project" - a project to upgrade the facilities and the building so that it is as useful to us now as it was to the 19th century Christians when they built it. The project is continually evolving as we come up with new ideas or our needs change.
So far, we have removed the old wooden pews from the central aisle and we have changed the interior of the back of the building to include:
- An office for our pastor, Suzanne, to use for meetings and other pastoral work
- A disabled toilet
- A clear glass door through to the outside to remove the "mystery" of what happens on Sunday mornings and to allow for a central aisle for use during weddings and funerals
Some of our future aspirations include:
- Removing the side pews and replacing them with chairs and recarpeting the whole church
- Using more technology in the services - for instance, purchasing a projector and screen to allow for more contemporary worship services
- Continuing to make the church building a place that the whole community feels it owns and can use
